Never Pay Full Price Series: UPROMISE

Upromise - Join Now 125x125

To start off I am going to tell you about one of my Favorite ways to save. If you have checked out Upromise in the past you may not know how much it now has to offer. You can now use your savings in a whole new way. Whether you are saving for a child to go to college or for a child already in college (or for yourself as I use it for my books, expenses and to pay down my student loans) you can now cash out in many ways including a check or transfer to a High Yield Savings account (with 10% match!). It works very well for those learning at one of the many accredited online colleges. I have gotten a ton of savings from this program and that is why I am choosing this as my first post in the Never Pay Full Price Series! More on the program and how I use it to maximize my savings below! Make sure to read the full post because I really think this is one of the best ways to save if you take advantage of all the program has to offer!

Here are the details with notes by each of how I use it to save and/or what options I currently take advantage of the most. Save Money the Smart Way with Upromise!

Online Shopping:
Earn 1 – 25% when you shop online with Upromise. You also get Shopping bonuses throughout the year. Download the TurboSaver toolbar if you like and never miss out on a deal.

Restaurants:
Up to 8% when you eat out as a Preferred Diner

Grocery eCoupons:
Upromise offers a selection of eCoupons on everyday items and your favorite brands.

Build your savings: By registering your cards you are able to use the ecoupons on the products you buy with your registered cards. So make sure to link up drugstore and grocery cards!

-Register Credit / Debit Cards
-Register Grocery & Drugstore Cards (CVS, Rite Aid, Stop and Shop etc)
-Register McDonald's Arch Cards

MAXIMIZE YOUR BENEFITS BY GETTING THE UPROMISE CREDIT CARD!!! This is where the savings can really add up! I do not recommend keeping a balance on any credit card but to only use it to maximize your rewards and pay off in full before the due date! At Christmas time I was able to score an additonal 11% on top of my regular cashback just by using my Upromise card!

Don't miss out on these benefits:

$50 Welcome Bonus Offer
3% cash back into your Upromise account when you shop online through Upromise

  3. Thanks for sharing this, I've been interested in using UPromise for awhile, but never really taken the time to understand how it would work for me (I'm in school myself currently). This has given me some great ideas, I'll have to go check it out and sign up.

  4. This is so useful. Much like MJ, I'd been on the fence about UPromise. This was a terrific primer in all its benefits (they should be paying you...)
    Peace and good.

  5. Whoa! I'm on Upromise, but have been disappointed with the low return I've received so far. I didn't know you could register a debit card. It's my primary source of payment. I could be getting so much more out of it! Thanks for the eye opener!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Glad you found something that interests and works for you. I never seem to make any money off of things like this. Affiliate programs just do not work with my blog audience.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm in UPromise - but haven't actually gotten anything saved with it. I don't do anything on credit and won't get a card just to get rewards, but wonder if they've changed their policy on debit cards.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I absolutely love Upromise! I started using it years and years ago when a store locally began a loyalty card program. It is amazing how much the little purchases add up over the years!

    ReplyDelete
  49. For those of you who looked into Upromise before it definitely has changed! You can now cash out for a check or transfer to a high yield checking acct etc and I am not one to recommend using credit cards but their card is one of the best IMO. I use it for most of my purchases then go online within the week to pay it in full so no interest charges but you earn all the rewards! At XMAS I was getting 11% back on top of the regular cashback for doing my online shopping thru their site so definitely take a second look. And no I do not work for them lol Also This post is part of a new series I created so there will be others ways to save not just this one I just started with this one because I really use it all the time but stay tuned for more and get signed up for my emails!

  60. I've been a member of UPromise for years. At first I made a little bit (less than $10), but lately I haven't made anything. I'm sure I have all my cards registered. I don't need another cc though! I may need to look again and see why I'm not earning anything.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Thank you for the Upromise tips! I'm a member there too but I haven't even checked it in ages. I never really got much use out of it. I didn't know you could put a debit card on there either! We are very strict about not using credit cards but we use our debit cards to pay for a lot of things! I will be sure to check in and see what's new there. :)

  65. I've been part of Upromise for many years now... and although I've probably only earned $70 or so towards my student loan, hey I figure that's less that I'll have to pay! :)
I have to say I probably could maximize my savings here by doing more with my account though so thanks for the tips! :)

  67. I was vaguely familiar with UPromise, but there's so much more here than I realized. I think i have an account, but I'm not sure how often it's been used!

    ReplyDelete
  68. I didn't even know that they had a credit card. Years ago, I think that when you registered with Publix, that you got a card that would be swiped every time you bought groceries. I had forgotten all about that. Now, I wonder if I actually have some moola in an old account.
Thanks for the great post. I'm certainly going to check into this!

    ReplyDelete
  69. It is interesting how much the program has grown. I didn't realize it can help pay off student loans!?! I need to read more about that!

  81. This was a really informative post about a topic I knew nothing about. I guess when my children were small, I was into couponing and tried to save money every which way. :) Now they are grown and on their own...I still try to be careful, but I will definitely check this out. I will follow your posts so I don't miss out on the series...and will be able to return and read more carefully. I get so busy writing (my book for parents and teachers was published last year)...but saving money is worth the time. :)

    ReplyDelete
  82. Nice Post! I already use Upromise and it is a great service.

On the Upromise... so there is no catch? I am slightly blinded by the masses of blogs I'm reading through this project, but I'm definitely going to go check that out! Great post!

  90. I have a UPromise (I think, I haven't used in FOREVER), but I didn't know you could do all of that with it. The most I knew about the program was that I could use the rewards card when I shopped at Publix and I never got a physical card since I only signed up for it online a long time ago.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I had an account with Upromise but the items that you earn from are name brand products that I don't buy.Thank you for sharing all that great info!
